EITS, Slim's 5.1.07

Explosions In The Sky played Slim's last night to a sold-out crowd of adoring fans that wildly cheered and applauded at the end of each song, yet were so attentive and silent while the band played that you could hear a pin drop from the rest room at the back of the club. The Austin, Texas quartet plays instrumental rock much in the same vein as Mono from the post below, and while I believe the former's music is a bit less brooding & dramatic than their Japanese counterparts, it is no less intense. I would call it blissful and lyrical.
